The pursuit of thinness is a history of battling not only structural challenges but also material challenges. The Tenuis series has adopted completely different materials in search of the optimal solution at each stage of development.

The initial Tenuis1 model utilized Tyvek, a high-density polyethylene nonwoven fabric also used in building materials and protective clothing. It is a material that is as thin as paper yet possesses incredible tear strength.
However, as we delved deeper into practicality, some challenges became apparent. The plastic-based materials we tried with Tenuis2 were excellent in terms of thinness and shape retention, but their stiffness affected how well the wallet felt in the hand.
And what I finally arrived at with Tenuis3 was "goat leather".
Goatskin possesses both "thinness" and a "supple strength" that plastic lacks. Due to its high fiber density, it won't tear even when thinned to the extreme, and it flexibly conforms to the shape of the card. Artificial leather may be able to replicate these characteristics, but it cannot replicate the feel of natural materials.
The goal was to create a leather product that wasn't bulky, yet had a texture that felt incredibly supple to the touch. Returning to natural materials after using high-tech materials was a result of our pursuit of perfection as a tool. After deciding on the material, we moved on to structural design.
The following are products from the Tenuis series, which use goatskin leather.
