Q: With thin wallets like Tenuis made from goat leather, won't they tear easily being so thin?

A: The outer Italian leather/waxed canvas and inner goat leather are inherently strong materials. We've thinned them as much as possible without compromising their inherent strength.
The outer material primarily protects the wallet from opening/closing and external friction. The inner goat leather, in addition to its strength, offers excellent elasticity, contributing to key features like the twin card slots. The waxed canvas is a 100% natural cotton material originally used for yacht sails and truck tarps, offering high tensile strength and resistance to friction. The wax coating further enhances its robustness and texture.

Q: Does the leather require maintenance?

The Italian leather used undergoes the traditional Baccetta oil method and natural tannin tanning, resulting in a high oil content. Therefore, applying additional leather cream or similar products is unnecessary. The oil already present will gradually permeate the leather, maintaining its condition perfectly. If it gets dirty, please wipe it off with a dry cloth whenever possible.


2. Capacity and Usability

Q: How many cards can it hold?

A: For the Tenuis, 3rd generation and later models with twin card slots, each slot typically holds 4 cards. With 2 slots, that's a total of 8 cards. The hidden pockets can hold 1 or 2 cards each, totaling 2 additional slots. For the 4th generation goat leather version, the twin coin case can also be used as a card holder, adding 2 more slots. The twin card slots utilize the stretchiness of goat leather. They may feel a bit tight initially, but the leather will soften and conform within a few days, allowing smooth insertion and removal.

Q: Can bills be stored without folding?

A: Yes, even relatively large Japanese banknotes fit easily without folding. In the slim wallet and compact wallet industry, prioritizing unique shapes sometimes sacrifices the usability found in traditional wallets.

Q: Can I use contactless payments with cards stored inside?

A: Yes. Starting with the Tenuis 3rd generation, a hidden pocket is included. Cards placed there are positioned closest to the reader, making them ideal for contactless payments. For other wallets, placing cards outside the bill compartment allows them to be read from the outside (enabling contactless use).

Q: What should I put in the hidden pocket?

A: Beyond cards, a powerful use is storing keys. The Tenuis series (including Tynd) has four dedicated slots at the hidden pocket entrance for slim keys, allowing you to carry several house keys together. You can also store important receipts, invoices, or band-aids.

Q: How long does it take for the color to change, and how much does it change?

A: This varies by leather type, but Italian leathers often change relatively quickly. Some may start showing changes as early as about one month. Among the leathers SOLAHANPU has handled—Toscano, Bulgaro, Margaux, and Elba Matt—the latter two tend to show changes faster, likely due to their lower sheen.The extent of color change also depends on the type and shade of leather, but surfaces with less inherent shine or lighter colors often show more noticeable changes.

Waxed canvas exhibits a phenomenon similar to leather aging. The surface wax develops a sheen over time through friction and bending, much like leather.
