The Tenuis3 TL is an evolved version of the Tenuis3 , which raised 44 million yen. While maintaining the popular 6mm thinness, the material has been changed to leather, making it suitable for a wide range of situations. The innovative "Hidden Pocket 2.0" has been added to provide high storage capacity. It can hold 8 cards, 10-15 bills, and 10-20 coins, making it 12mm thick.
The concept is "it remains thin even when you put something inside"
The Tenuis TL is a slim wallet that is just 6mm thin when empty. But it's not just thin, it's also a wallet that can maintain its thinness even when filled with cards and coins .
In recent years, slim wallets have become more common. However, a common problem with slim wallets is that " the wallet itself is thin, but when you actually put bills, coins, and cards in it, it becomes thick ." Of course, the thinness of the wallet itself is important, but we think that "maintaining its thinness even when you put things in it" is just as important.
The "Tenuis TL" we are introducing this time is not only made of a thin material, but also incorporates many features that enable the wallet to maintain its thinness even when actually using it.
The thinnest in the industry, 0.8mm surface leather
When making the thinnest possible wallet, it is important to use thin materials.
The surface leather of the "Tenuis TL" is made from Toscano Liscio cowhide from the Italian workshop Conceria Ottocento. Through skiving (the process of shaving thick leather into a thin layer), the leather is thinned to 0.8 mm , which is the bare minimum thickness that still allows it to maintain its strength. It is one of the thinnest leather materials in the industry.
Not only is it thin, but we have also pursued its appeal as a leather material. The leather is processed using the traditional Italian Vacchetta oil method. This method involves slowly soaking the leather in vegetable tannins over a long period of time, resulting in a very soft and supple leather material that feels comfortable in your hand . This "Vacchetta leather" is soaked in plenty of oil, so you can enjoy the color and luster deepening as it ages.
The inside of the "Tenuis TL" is made of 0.5 mm goat leather. Goat leather is a material that is not commonly heard in Japan, but it is a leather material that is lightweight, durable, thin, and stretchable. It is also known for the fine, beautiful wrinkles that form a grain pattern.
The industry's first "twin card pocket" that thoroughly eliminates waste
The card holder of the "Tenuis TL" is designed with a " twin card pocket " that prioritizes ease of access and storage capacity.
By arranging the card pockets in parallel, the thickness is distributed, making it easy to see the cards and to take them out smoothly. The size of two cards is almost the same as the entire wallet, so there is no wasted space.
The recommended number of cards to store is 4 in each pocket, for a total of 8, which is plenty for a wallet to use on a daily basis. Because it is made of leather, it may feel tight at first with only 3 cards in it, but after a few days of use, the elastic leather will become accustomed to it and you will be able to take cards in and out smoothly.
In addition, the twin card pockets distribute the thickness of the wallet, so it won't be uneven even if you put a lot of cards in it . It's thin and keeps the area to a minimum. It can maintain a smart appearance even after several years of use.
Dividers to eliminate uneven coin placement
Even if the wallet is thin, the coin pocket will expand as you use it. The coin pocket of the "Tenuis TL" is equipped with a " divider ". Even if you carry coins inside, they are less likely to be concentrated in one place, and the thickness is distributed .
The zipper is also a thin zipper with few bumps. We took ease of use into consideration without sacrificing thinness.
Improved "Hidden Pocket 2.0" stores more cards and keys
Since the release of the previous "Tenuis3" , we have received a lot of feedback from our users, which we are very grateful for. Among them, we have received a lot of feedback from users who said they wanted to carry more cards and valuables other than money with their wallets, so we have significantly improved the functionality of the pocket inside the wallet, which was introduced as the "hidden pocket" in the previous version.
We added one new pocket that can store cards, so that you can store a total of two cards in two pockets. This means that you can store a total of 10 cards, including the twin card pockets mentioned above (8 cards).
In addition, this improved "hidden pocket" has four key pockets, two in each pocket, which can hold most types of common keys, so you can keep a spare key hidden in your wallet just in case.
