Tenuis The BG is the fourth-generation design of our signature slim wallet. It's finally here after a
long wait since the previous model, Tenuis TL (formerly Tenuis 3 Leather TL). While slim and compact wallets have become more common lately, many still feature unique structures that require getting used to, right? Tenuis The BG inherits the stable popularity of the twin card slots from its predecessor while incorporating a newly added twin coin pocket, prioritizing even greater thinness and usability in its design. Unlike previous series SOLAHANPUfeaturing cowhide + goatskin, this model is entirely crafted from premium full-grain cowhide.

Premium feel and durability from full-grain cowhide leather It uses Bulgaro leather from Italy's historic tannery
, Rostibale. This high-quality leather features a smooth, fine-grained surface. Initially slightly matte, it develops a lustrous sheen from absorbed oils with use.

Previous SOLAHANPU wallets mostly combined canvas, cowhide, and goatskin for the exterior and interior. This new piece, however, is finished entirely in Italian vegetable-tanned cowhide using the Baccetta oil method. The outer layer is slightly thicker to allow the leather's texture to be felt, while the interior is thinner to remain durable yet supple and functional. The material is split (a process to thin the leather) according to the role of each part.The edges (the "koba" or leather's edge finish), characteristic of genuine leather, are also beautifully finished. "TenuisTenuis" comes from the Latin word meaning "thin." BG is an abbreviation for the leather name Bulgaro.

Approximately 90mm wide, 112mm tall, and 8mm thick (when empty), it's about the size of two cards laid side by side, offering a noticeably slim feel in your hand.

Twin Card Slots for Thickness Distribution
The twin card slots split cards into two areas, distributing thickness. With 4 cards × 2 slots = 8 cards, it offers ample storage capacity. (Depending on card thickness, 5 cards × 2 slots is also possible.) This structure, inherited from the Tenuis3 era, is a key element in designing a slim wallet. We achieved a layout with no wasted space, where cards fit perfectly into the wallet's contours when inserted into each slot.While the current goat leather version has stretch, allowing cards to fit even in flat slots, this version uses slightly thicker leather, necessitating a more complex, three-dimensional design.

The twin coin pockets, divided into two tiers, offer
versatile usage. The vertically split coin pockets distribute thickness and allow coins to be managed in two separate areas. When coins aren't needed, the pockets can hold keys, tickets, receipts, etc. While the Tenuis 3rd generation used a slim zipper designed for wallets, contributing to the overall thinness, issues arose—even the thinnest zipper slider adds some thickness. This led to a new structural design.The zipper-free design uses a thin flap that covers the pocket to close securely, yet opening and closing is extremely simple.

A bill compartment that opens wide for easy access
, just like before. This bill compartment allows you to insert bills directly, like in a traditional wallet. With the increasing number of thin, compact wallets these days, their structure often leads to slightly unusual storage methods or situations where bills are clearly visible to others. Like the card pockets and coin pocket in the TenuisBG, the bill compartment is also straightforward and easy to use without needing any special getting used to.

As some may have already noticed in
the design, both the card slots and coin pockets utilize the wallet's area to the fullest, extending storage right to the very edges. Furthermore, the gusseted design allows for three-dimensional expansion, providing ample storage space. This is achieved through a special design where the edge stitching does not restrict the storage area.Wider storage area = contents spread flat = wallet stays slim. Usage Features

It fits
easily into pockets or bags without bulk, making it perfect for daily life. There are two coin pockets: one for coins, one for keys or tickets. Both can also be used for tickets or small items besides coins.

Regarding the hidden pocket featured in the previous goat leather version
: since this version uses slightly thicker material than the previous goat leather, adding a hidden pocket would have unnecessarily increased thickness. Therefore, we deliberately omitted it. Small items can be placed in either of the twin coin pockets instead. The "Cowhide + Goat Leather Version" and the "Full Cowhide Version" are not about superiority or inferiority; they simply represent different design directions.
