Our lives are filled with the need to "organize." Drawers, rooms, the contents of smartphones and computers, relationships—all require time and effort to organize and maintain. Neglecting this organization can lead to disadvantages or even unfavorable situations.

This design was born after repeated trial and error, design iterations, and prototyping, based on our founding "super organization life philosophy."

A passport-sized compact travel wallet!?

Volare Bulgaro is the comprehensive passport-sized wallet you never knew you needed. Conventional passport cases or passport wallets typically function only as cases with minimal storage, often being excessively large and thick—far from what you'd call a compact travel wallet. Volare Bulgaro neatly resolves previously difficult-to-reconcile contradictions: it holds your passport, offers full travel wallet functionality, and remains compact enough to fit in pockets.

Commitment to Authentic Leather

ThisSOLAHANPU marks the first time we've developed a wallet using a single type of leather throughout, allowing you to fully appreciate the texture of genuine leather. Previously, the standard combination was 0.5mm goatskin leather inside + 0.8mm leather or canvas outside. Volare Bulgaro features 0.8mm inner leather and 1.5mm outer leather. Both are Lo Stivale's Bulgaro, an Italian vegetable-tanned leather made using the Baccata oil method. It's firm yet smooth and delicate on the surface. We've achieved the perfect balance, maintaining thinness while allowing you to fully appreciate the leather's charm.

Compared to previous material combinations, the "material itself" is thicker, yet the overall structure remains thin, allowing you to still enjoy the benefitsSOLAHANPU of a slim wallet. The edge finishing, possible only with leather of a certain thickness, is beautifully executed, enhancing the handmade feel. Initially firm, it softens and develops a lustrous sheen with use, making it a material you can enjoy for years. Volare Bulgaro's Volare (Volare) is Italian for "to fly," evoking the spirit of travel.

Development Inspiration

From my first overseas trip in my youth, I was acutely aware of how to manage valuables. I had the idea that combining passport, money, and cards into a wallet with a chain would offer peace of mind against loss or theft, but I struggled to find a wallet just the right size to fit all my valuables neatly into a pocket.Back then, I used a nylon wallet that came closest to my ideal, but I felt its material and structure were far from perfect, leaving plenty of room for improvement. Drawing from that experience, this wallet incorporates everything I wanted: space for a passport, compartments for different currencies and coins, a pen holder, and the ability to attach a chain.

Honestly, back then, I frequently heard stories from fellow travelers abroad about losing or having their passports stolen. The common thread I noticed was that they kept their passports in bags, backpacks, pouches, shoulder bags, etc., and then either left them unattended for even a moment while going somewhere, or had them stolen somehow even while wearing them.

While it's not necessarily the absolute best solution, at SOLA, we believe keeping your passport and money in a wallet attached to your front pants pocket with a chain allows you to always know where your valuables are and enhances overall security.Furthermore, even with the advancement of electronic payments, there are still situations where your usual payment methods may not work in unfamiliar overseas locations, making cash usage likely. Therefore, we developed a comprehensive wallet that retains the fundamental functionality of a traditional wallet. This wallet can truly be said to be created from the most SOLAHANPUfundamental concept born from overseas travel experience.

Volare The essence of Bulgaro: Your passport fits perfectly within its dimensions

Truthfully, there are very few "compact wallets" that perfectly accommodate a passport. With the Volare, you no longer need to worry about where to store your passport. Its design securely holds both 10-year and 5-year passports, regardless of thickness, preventing them from falling out while allowing quick and easy access when needed. It can also hold notebooks smaller than passport size.

Twin Card Slots to Distribute Thickness

The twin card slots split cards into two areas, distributing thickness. With 5 slots × 2 areas = 10 slots, it offers ample capacity. You can organize cards by purpose, like everyday use and international travel.

This structure, SOLAHANPUinherited from our classicTenuis series, is a key element in designing a slim wallet. Placing transit cards at the bottom of the slots (closest to the wallet's surface) facilitates smooth passage through ticket gates. Conversely, to protect important cards from skimming, insert commercially available RFID-blocking cards into the slots.

Manage coins from different countries with the two-tier twin coin pocket

The vertically split coin pockets distribute thickness while keeping different currencies separate. Each pocket also has internal dividers, allowing further vertical coin separation. When coins aren't needed, these pockets can hold keys or other small items. Deliberately avoiding zippers maintains slimness and prevents zipper slider marks from transferring to the opposite side when folding the wallet. It closes securely enough to prevent accidental opening yet remains exceptionally easy to open and close.

Holds two types of bills separately

While it functions like a traditional bill compartment where you insert bills directly, there's a clever twist.

Besides inserting bills all the way to the bottom (Japanese yen in the photo), you can also hook bills (Euros in the photo) onto the left and right "clips" located around the middle of the compartment. This effectively divides bills into two layers, distributing thickness and allowing you to separate different currencies or denominations.

You can also store airline tickets temporarily held at airports (folded along the perforated dotted line).

Equipped with a notebook pen holder

Don't you often suddenly need writing utensils during immigration? The VolareBulgaro features a hidden pen holder that stays tucked away when not in use. (As shown in the photo) Simply pull it out, insert your pen, and hook it in place. This allows for quick completion of forms like immigration cards and customs declarations, which are often filled out on planes or at arrival airports. (Designed for pens around 10cm long)

Wallet Chain Hook Included

Your wallet and passport are among the valuables you absolutely don't want to lose while traveling abroad. While usage varies with trends and times, attaching a wallet chain can still provide peace of mind. The VolareBulgaro has a chain hook that doesn't detract from its appearance and can be folded away and stored out of sight when not in use. It helps protect your precious travel items from theft or loss. (Wallet chain, cord, metal parts, etc. are not included.)
