About the Coverage of the Hidden Pocket in the Smart Compact Wallet

Hello. In this post, I’d like to share my response to a question we occasionally receive about the “hidden pocket” featured in our Tenuis series of slim, compact wallets and our Tynd mini wallet.

“When I put a smart key or smart tag in there, the wallet bulges out and doesn’t fit right.”

To put it simply, we’re very sorry, but thick keys or tags equipped with these electronic components are “not intended” for this pocket’s design.

These hidden pockets are intended solely for storing “flat, thin items.”

  • Not intended for : Thick smart keys with electronic circuits or buttons, thick smart tags, etc.
  • Intended : Standard thin analog keys without electronic components, thin anti-loss tags, etc.

The smart electronic key category is still in its infancy, and I believe we’re in a transitional phase where they’ll continue to get thinner. However, at this point, SOLA’s hidden pockets are intended solely for storing analog valuables that have already been made as thin as possible.

Products labeled “Smart [X]” may seem tailored for minimalists at first glance, but since their thickness varies, we ask that you judge whether an item fits in the SOLA wallet based on its actual thickness rather than whether it’s “smart” or not.

Forcing items that don’t fit can cause the wallet to lose its shape or even break. We would appreciate it if you would carefully select only “thin items” for this space and use it wisely.
