This time, I'd like to talk about one of those changes: "the modification of the hidden pocket's shape," which significantly impacts the convenience of this wallet.
Increased Capacity Where You Need It Most
When choosing a minimalist compact wallet, many people worry, "It's nice that it's thin and small, but won't it be difficult to use if cards and coins are packed tightly?" or "What if receipts and essential small items don't fit, and I regret it later?"
To address these concerns, Tenuis focuses on the existence of "hidden pockets" that are not visible from the outside.
In the previous model, the hidden pockets consisted of "a small slot for a key and a larger pocket for cards." However, we have now incorporated the design of the leather version, which appeared two years later, into this canvas version, significantly expanding the shape of the pockets.
In the new canvas version, both hidden pockets are designed to accommodate "both cards and keys." This significantly increases storage capacity while maintaining the overall slimness of the wallet.
The Real Reason for "Four Key Slots"
We have a total of four key slots. You might think, "I don't carry that many keys." However, the essence of this design is not just about carrying many items; it also offers significant benefits even if you carry only a few keys.
For example, even if you only carry two keys, where you place them—on the "left or right (front or back) side" of the wallet—can affect your daily ease of use.
"I put cards in one pocket, so I'll put keys on the opposite side to prevent them from clashing." "I'll avoid the side that might get thick with a lot of coins and move the keys to the neater opposite side."
Thus, the real strength of these four slots lies in the flexibility to freely change the key placement according to the storage situation, your dominant hand, or the position of frequently used pockets (e.g., a spot where trouser marks aren't a concern).
